A Light to My Path

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.”
Psalm 119:105

Darkness comes in many forms. Night is darkness from the sun. Clouds from a fierce storm can block out the sun. Shut yourself in a room with no windows, darkness.psalm119

There are many ways in this world to experience darkness, but what about the darkness of our fallen world and corrupt hearts?

Darkness comes from all of us in many forms. We hurt those around us and they hurt us. Depression, anxiety, guilt, hopelessness and stress surround us.

Light, joy, hope and peace are rare in our lives.

The world, those around us and ourselves drive us into darkness, but light comes from God. God has given us his wonderful light.

God did not abandon us to the darkness, but sent his son Jesus to bring light into the world. Jesus came to wipe away the guilt, sadness and sin that keep you in the darkness. Jesus’ life, death and resurrection are the light and hope that darkness cannot overcome.

Jesus has forgiven you all your sins. He bought you back from the world of darkness and through his sacrifice, by paying with his own life, you are now God’s special possession. Jesus is the light shining in the darkness. He loves you. He is your Savior.

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9
