Who won the race?

November 9, 2016

Pastor Gunnar Ledermann

“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.” 1 Corinthians 9:24

How do you feel after the election? Were your dreams fulfilled or flattened? A lot of hopes follow behind each candidate in an election, but only one gets the office.

If your candidate won or lost, remember that in another four years the whole process begins again.

You want the secret to feeling like a winner in and out of an election year and whether or not your vote followed a winner?

Elections are important, but not number one. Your life has one prize that surpasses all the others, following your savior. Jesus ran a perfect race, a life without sin.

You and I run stressful and short lived races, a life of sin. Jesus paid for that sin through his death on the cross. Jesus won the race for you, winning you a heavenly prize. Your sins are now forgiven. You run for eternal life and it is yours already through your Savior Jesus.

“Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.” 1 Corinthians 9:25
